- There is a spelling error in the WiFi name and password you entered.
- The HAM device is not communicating with your router due to poor signal range.
- Something is temporarily preventing your router from communicating with the Internet.
- A complex security or operational setting on your router is preventing the device from communicating with the Internet.
- Connect to the WiFi whose settings you want to check
- Enter the login details for your account, which can be found on the back of your router.
- In any browser, type the IP address displayed on your router into the search bar to access the router's settings page.
The first step after logging into your router's configuration page is to check that the HAM has received an IP address from the router. You can see how to test this by following the instructions in our related article by clicking here and following the test procedure up to step 3. The device should appear as HAMXX_XXXX, where XX_XXXX is the S/N of the device. If you don't see the device in the shared IP list, then the HAM device is not connected to your router, which means that:
1. Review steps 1 and 2 of this article: Check the accuracy of the data you are sending to the device and the range of your WiFi.
2. There is DHCP congestion: You can see how to check if there is a DHCP congestion problem and how to fix it by following the instructions in our related article.
3. You cannot find a 2.4GHz network.
If you see the device in the Distributed IP list, then the HAM device is connected to your router. In this case, check the rest of your router's security settings as shown below.

- Then go to the Wireless MAC Filtering tab. You will see all the devices that have been given exclusive access by this setting.
- Go to the 'Wireless' or 'WiFi' tab in your router's settings menu.
- You can disable the "Wireless MAC Filtering" filtering process altogether by clicking on the "Disable" option.
- Alternatively, if you want to keep the setting active, you can simply add the HAM device you want to configure to the list of allowed devices, along with the device's MAC address.
