In any case you do not wish to set up a HAM device via our application in the recommended way, it is possible to register your Wi-Fi credentials on the device via your laptop or desktop computer.

This process is done with the help of the Access Point of each HAM device and is quite simple:

1. Connect the HAM device to the power supply, in any way that is suggested or desired by you, depending on the device.

2. Creating the devices' Access Point

  • If you own a device that requires manual setup by pressing a button, press the corresponding button until the green LED starts blinking. Wait at least 3 minutes for the device to create its own Wi-Fi access point ("Wi-Fi Access Point").
  • If you have a device that does not require manual setup, simply wait at least 3 minutes for the device to create its own Wi-Fi access point ("Wi-Fi Access Point").

3. Make sure the device's Access Point is enabled by looking on your computer at the "Available Wi-Fi Networks" tab on the bottom right side of your screen.

4. In this tab, you will see all available networks near your computer. You should see a Wi-Fi with a form name: "HAMXX_XXXX", where "XXX_XXXXX" will be numbers. This is the device's Access Point.

You can verify that this is the Access Point of the device you want to configure by checking the device's Serial Number (S/N), which is on the label on the back of the device or on the first instructions sheet. This Serial Number (S/N) will be the same as the number "XX_XXXX" in the name "HAMXX_XXXX".

If you do not see a network with the name "HAMXX_XXXX" in the list and at least 3 minutes have passed since the device was connected to the power supply, then disconnect it from the power supply and repeat the procedure from the beginning.

5. Next, connect to Wi-Fi "HAMXX_XXXX".

The password that Wi-Fi will ask you for is the Device Key (D/K) of the device, which you can find on the label on the back of the device, or on the first instruction sheet.

If you can't find it, follow the instructions in our article on the subject by clicking here.

6. Once you're sure you're connected to the device's Wi-Fi Access Point, open a browser, preferably Google Chrome, and type the following in the search bar: "192.168.4.1".

7. On the appearing page, you will be asked for a name and Wi-Fi password. Enter the name and password of your Wi-Fi that you want the HAM device to connect to and click "Submit".

  • When you click submit, make sure that the Wi-Fi you are connected to is the Access Point of the device!
  • Be sure to set the Wi-Fi credentials correctly!

8. You should see the following message: "You can close this window now and go back to the app". Even if it doesn't show you this, you will know that the process is complete if you get disconnected you from the device's Access Point.

As long as you have correctly set up your Wi-Fi credentials, your device is now connected to the internet!

You can register your device in the device list by following the procedure in our article on the subject, by clicking here.
