To connect a new device to your Wi-Fi router, you must first configure it.

  • To set up a device you must first download our "HAM Systems" application.
  • You will then need to create an account and sign in. If you don't have an account, you can find instructions on how to register here.
  • We recommend that your mobile phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the one you want to connect the HAM device to.
  • It is important to be right next to the device you want to set up.

Device Setup

1. In the devices tab, click the "+" button, as shown in the image below.

2. From the device options offered, select the first one ("HAM ThermoSense, HAM HumiSense, HAM LEDDimmer")

3. At this point, you can manually enter your Wi-Fi network name and password .

4. Alternatively, you can set up your device in a more convenient way, by enabling the app's Location Permissions through your mobile settings to avoid the potential spelling errors that can result from manually entering the Wi-Fi name:

  • Tap "Go to Settings" to go to your mobile's rights page.
  • On the rights page, click on the "Permissions" option to grant the appropriate permissions to the HAM application.
  • On the available permissions page, select "Location".
  • Select "Allow all the time", for the application to access your location at all times.

5. Going back to the app, on your Wi-Fi credentials input page, the app will have automatically filled in the "name" field with the Wi-Fi to which your phone is connected

  • If the network to which your mobile is connected is the same as the one you want to configure the device (which we strongly recommend), then at this point, enter the code of this Wi-Fi in the "Wi-Fi Password" field.
  • Otherwise, if there is another network at the premises where you want to connect the device to, then click on the name tab. From the list of available networks that appears, select the network on which you want to connect the device. Then enter the code of that Wi-Fi in the "Wi-Fi Password" field.
  • In case you don't find the network you want to connect the device to in the list of available networks, tap "Other" and manually enter the Wi-Fi name and password.

6. On the device, press and hold the Setup button for a few seconds, until the green LED light starts blinking. At the same time in the HAM Systems app, press "Next" on the corresponding instruction page.

7. The app, at this point, will start the process of sending the Wi-Fi name and password to the device.

8. If everything went well and the device is connected to the Wi-Fi router and communicating with the cloud, then the green LED will be steadily lit.

8a. The following window will appear asking you to claim the device to your account.

8b. If you have not already claimed your new device, enter the device key in the pop-up window and click "Submit".

8c. If you have already claimed your new device, click the "Close" button in the pop-up window.

** In some cases the Device Key (D/K) input field is not displayed directly. You will first see an indication from the application, asking you to specify what state the green LED light is in. In this case, and as long as it is steadily lit, select "The green LED is fully on" and then "Claim device". You will then be taken to the Device Key (D/K) entry page.

** In case the green LED keeps blinking, try the procedure again 1 more time.

If it still keeps blinking, then you can configure the device with the suggested alternative methods, following the instructions in our article, by clicking here

** In case the green LED is completely off, it means that the device has received the Wi-Fi data you gave it, but cannot connect to the internet. You can check and troubleshoot the problems that may exist, following the instructions, in our related article, by clicking here.
