The features that HAM Systems offers you to create reports are varied and can cover any need you may have, from a simple reading of your devices' readings, to editing and configuring them.
For this reason you are given the possibility to create reports in many different formats (PDF, CSV, PDF Receipt).
One of these is the CSV file format, which you can edit in Excel and for which we need to give some clarifications regarding its use.
Opening a CSV file in Excel
- It is worth noting that special care is needed every time you try to open a CSV file in Excel in order to edit it. You may sometimes notice that the file does not display the values in a normal way or shows you some inconsistent characters.
This is most likely because your Excel has not opened the CSV file in the proper format, in which it is generated by the HAM Systems application (UTF-8).

- The solution to this problem is quite simple, as long as before you open the CSV file in Excel, you set the specific UTF-8 format in which the file is in, so that it can be read by Excel:
1. Open a new blank Excel editing sheet.

2. Follow the sequence of steps DATA (1) -> NEW QUERY (2) -> FROM FILE (3) -> FROM CSV (4) , just as you see in the picture below:

3. In the window that appears, select the CSV report file that you have downloaded to your computer (5), and click "Import" (6).

4. In the new import window that appears, click on the "File origin" section (7). From the list of options that appear, select the CSV file format of the report "65001: Unicode (UTF-8)" (8). Finally, click on "Transform Data" (9) to import the CSV file into Excel in its new format.

5. Now all the data in the CSV file should be displayed normally in Excel, with no inconsistent characters.
You can now edit and format the data as you wish.
