How can I set the static IP of HAM devices?

Binding the IP to the MAC Address of the device using the MAC Binding method

HAM devices connect exclusively to the Access Point or Router via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).

In case you want your devices to have a specific IP given to them by your Router or Access Point, the way to do this is to use the MAC Binding method, i.e. to configure DHCP to always assign the same IP based on the MAC Address of the device:

1. In order to assign a specific IP address to a device, it is necessary to know the MAC Address of the specific HAM device. You can find detailed instructions for finding the MAC Address of HAM devices by clicking here.

2. The MAC Binding settings can be found in the administrative interface of your Router/Access Point, on its IP page (e.g. 192.168.1.1). They are usually in the main menu, under the DHCP/LAN categories. There, the relevant setting may appear with names such as "Address Reservation" or "DHCP Binding".

3. In the bar corresponding to "MAC Address" write the MAC Address of the HAM device and in the bar corresponding to "IP Address" write the IP Address you want to give. Attention! In those management environments where the "Status" option is present, make sure it is set to "Enabled". Finally press "Save" or "Apply" in order to bind the HAM device with the IP. You can add more devices afterwards by following the same procedure.

Note: Since every Router/Access Point is different depending on the manufacturer, model and software version, it is not possible to provide instructions on where exactly the appropriate settings are located. However, we have provided some indicative screenshots below that may be of assistance.
